My 89 sport 20 has a 94 200hp black max offshore Merc, everthing I have found said I need a sending unit. can't seem to locate one online, but ebay has OMC sending unit which I thought I could just mount it to the motor bracket as long as the lever moves with the bracket that tilts the motor...

I have a 14.25x19 SS now and it takes off quick and tops out at 43mph on GPS at 59K rpm. Think of a 14.25x21 to give me a better gas mileage and more top speed to get me to my fishing holes faster.

When do you think you should paint the gel coat a V20 vs. buffing it?

Wondering if anyone knows where to get the plastic strip that goes under the rope that goes in the rub rail? It is a plastic strip that keeps the screws from going through the rubber rub rail part, I think.

I have a 1989 v20 center console I have had it for several years and the floor is getting softer so I am going to take the top cap off and refiberglass some new wood in the floor, and check transom and stringers. Not quite sure if the top comes of as easy as just taking the screws out of top...
