The 165 inline 6. Took it out for an extended break-in ride. Started right up. I took it easy and varied the rpms for about an hour then, headed out to sea. Rode around for awhile and trolled back in. It runs alot smoother and is already faster w/o going to WOT.

My 165 inline 6 finally croaked. I dunno if it's just a head gasket or worse but since it's over 30 years old I figure it's time to repower. Question is..just replace the 6..go with a V-8 ??? or is there a inline 4 available? Any tho'ts? Power wise the setup now is OK...I'd like better...

Outdrive won't trim up. The down button works fine. Up does nothing. No click, buzz or anything. I removed the switch and cleaned'm, ( all three ). checked the fluid. Seems if the trim motor was shot it wouldn't work at all. It's a '77 V-20 165MC I/O. TIA for any info.
