Fuel Filter Relocation to Splash Well

I have a 1994 V-21 with a 200 hp Evinrude that has the oil injection system removed. I have two batteries in the starboard rear storage area which is causing a list. I want to move one battery to the port storage locker which at this time has the fuel/water seperator installed there. Batteries and fuel do not get along last time I checked so I was considering installing the fuel filter in the splash well on the starboard side. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks

I have the V20,so not sure what splashwell is on the V21. I have 2 batteries located between the stringers with the Racor located inside the starboard compartment. Mine is a 83 i bought in 92 and it was like that.

Post some pics of the splashwell if u have some.

I have a fuel filter in the splash well of my 89 V20 cuddy with no issues. I also have 2 batteries in the starboard rear box with nothing in the port box with no boat list, maybe the V21 has different center of gravity. Also, have the fuel line passing through the starboard box to get to the filter, so am always a little concerned if I smell fuel in the box so make sure to vent the box before doing anything with the batteries or batt switch.
