    V-20 tows back a BEAST

Too much fish for the V-20...this one had to be towed. A painful 4-hour tow but with a smile on our faces. I hope everyone can share in my joy realizing that any fisherman could have caught this fish but I could say there were tense moments during a 2-1/2 hour battle. Only two of us aboard, one...

    V-20 Last Bluefin Run!

No reports of inshore tuna anywhere, most fishermen were headed to offshore canyons. The weather report was V-20 sea's, so I ran south of the Resor wreck, then out to the 30 line, north to the triple wrecks, and by late afternoon I was fishing in the Chicken Canyon. Then it happened!! 2 hook...

    Gorilla Glue

I had a small amount of moisture in two of the holes where the motor mounts bolt to the stringer so I cut some mahogany strip's and mixed with Gorilla glue. A day later I drilled a pilot hole and I had to damn near power the 3/8 lag bolt in. Now that is one Go-Rilla that work's.:head:

    Christmas eve Tog

Tog fishing has been very good this season at the Sandy Hook Reef, limiting out for the most part with fish in the 4-5 lbs range. The last trip was a little short of the limit but we caught a Christmas gift, a 10lb class fish. Having caught enough fish for the trip, we gave back our gift to live...

    Senior Citizen Fishing

Just being 66 years of age is a challenge and I have fished and hunted my entire life with happiness, but when s--t happens, now I have to laugh and get over it. Friday, 12-7, we fished sandy hook reef again for tog. It was a slow pick but around 3:00 pm the bite came on! So I stayed a...

    V-20 mako

It was definitely V-20 weather Sunday so I cruised out of Barnegat inlet at 6:00AM. Destination; Resor wreck 32.5 miles off. This is a trip I'll never forget. Just two of us, my most recent fishing partner Ross and I, were into sharks on the second spot I tried; We honestly caught about 12 blue...

    trailer lights

The best deal on temporary trailer lights, from harbor freight. Saturday i went to pick up another v-20 on a trailer that has been sitting for awhile; so i figured out i would check the wheel bearings and bring two spare tires along with some lights. Trailer lights are always a problem due to...

    Late afternoon stripers

Well its a trade off either get up at 3:30AM or leave at noon and get home later. One thing is you miss the AM bite but the evening bite has less boats heading to the honey hole. Nice bite at Long Branch area friday birds and bunker working along with stripers and blues, finished up...

25yr old mercruiser survives salt water

Maintenance is a player, since it is sea water cooled. Salt and sand muck along with a lay up period of use had clogged up the water jackets, actually cemented them shut in the heads. Because of a few sharpie's on this site, which I have total respect for, you'll notice the heads aren't...
