had the same problem, you will need to resize you pics. Took me a while to figure it out, when you open a pic on your computer, save a copy, then resize( not crop) your pics to a smaller size( file size, not actual size)

45-55 lb/ft is spec, but if you are using lock nuts, you're going to have to tighten further as the locking part of the nut will take more torque. Watch the transom while you tighten them. If you hear crunching or see teh washers start to pull in, stop right there. Retighten after you run the boat

look close at the middle of the axle where it dips down, take a hammer and smack it pretty good, if you can dent it, its rusted thru

a torsion axel has four main parts, the axle itself, the swing arm, the spindle and the hub. Hubs are easily replaceable, but make sure the axle itself is not rusted or bent and make sure the spindle the hub rides on isn't chewed up

yea, done it plenty of times. If it dries completely hard, you may have to predrill, if it dries to a still somewhat pliable form, you can screw straight into it. I've rub a screw on a bar of soap, fill a hole with epoxy, stuck teh screw in it, then after it cures give it another 1/4 turn
