Fair price for V20 Steplift Repairs

Who knows what anything cost anymore, but that’s a lot o work. Also depends on materials used in the rebuild. Lotta gray area. If u got the boat for nothing. And 6-8 months later u had a V20 with new stringers , cap, etc. I’d say it’s worth it. But no matter what u do to that hull, only worth...

    Bow rail Why ?

Agree with DM, bow pulpit is the way to go. Allows control of anchoring while standing in cabin. Also when anchoring shallow, lets me ease up until anchor is vertical and the bump forward to pop anchor out of mud. Rail also gives me a place to store anchor ball on deck.

    Bow rail Why ?

i kept mine because of my kids and their friends. We pull up to the sand bar or island and they all hug out in the cabin or on the bow. Does give a false sense of security to some, i see lotta kids riding on the bow with legs hanging over. Not a smart move.

Wanted - Wellcraft V21 in excellent condition

86 should be raised deck, scuppers go overboard. Earlier, go into bilge and get pumped overboard. I would think all V21 would have same overboard drains.

    Who’s got the oldest V boat ?

Don't blame you,D. As long as it goes, run it. Had an OB mechanic tell me one time, running an outboard on your boat is like riding around with a hand grenade strapped to your transom. sounds like your good at pre=maintenance, that means a lot.

this is a pic of the one i added to mine bout 20 years ago. Love it, made anchoring much easier and safer. Was doing a lot of diving then so multiple anchor drops every trip. also went with a stainless rail over zmack this is the underside with the backing plate, aluminum plate with a...

    Adding a pulpit

I helped a friend build a deck using ipe, he was the carpenter, i just handed stuff to him. Then I rebuilt all of the wood in my 13 whaler using some scraps and left over board. Agree with Scook, great on boats. But very dense, hard on tool and blades. You MUST predrill and screw holes. Does...

    Who’s got the oldest V boat ?

You guys are a lot better to your boats than i am. Had mine 32 years and haven't waxed it yet. Used to wash with soap & brush in the spring and just rinse when we got home. 25 years ago, i built a pole barn in side yard to store it under. that helped a lot. I did buy a cheap elec pressure...

    Transom issues

Given that it’s a V21, that would probably be a very tricky one to do. Not really sure how they built it at the factory. Hopefully some of the 21 crew will shed more light. I remember Destroyer (I think) had to add a brace or stiffen his up at one time. Gotta remember these are at least 35...

    Need advice on fuel leak

Try lowering the bow as low as u can, leave it for a hour or two. This should flood the front half of the tank where the intake and vent inlets are. Then lift bow as high as u can and check drain. If no gas leave it bow high for an hour or two and see if any gas shows up. The rear is where...
