    Starboard Question

I'm thinking of covering over the empty rod box holes in my V with starboard. I've never actually seen or handled the material. Can it be painted?

    I Love wellcraftV20.com!

UPS dude brought me something nice today. I'll let you decide which of the pictured items it was. Here's a hint... I'll be putting it/her to good use in Baja soon! TH

    Report from Northern CA

My baby comes home from the shop today with the main motor tuned and checked over and the kicker/bracket installed.  I have already informed the wife that next weekend will be dedicated to getting the boat ready for the season.  Here's why...

    YanKiwi... Red Stag

YanKiwi, I figured that, as our representative from New Zealand, you'd appreciate this.  My cousin Mike emailed me this picture from NZ yesterday morning.  He shot the red stag earlier this week on an archery hunt. TH

    Yet another question...

I see the compartment in the deck next to the helm as a fish box.  I have two problems.  The first is that it is now occupied by the oil reservoir for the outboard.  I'd like to relocate this under the helm seat.  This shouldn't be a big deal.   My second problem is the drainage from the fish...

    Missing diver followup

I posted last week about a diver missing in my area. Here is a followup article from today's paper. Charlie Nottoff the guy who is quoted and went diving near the boat looking for him is sort of my dive-grandfather. He taught the guy who taught me and still services my gear...

    So many tubes...

Ok, I need some help understanding whats going on here. My V is a 1987 which means it should have a self bailing hull. To me that term means that the deck drains to the sea rather than to the bilge to pumped out later. Perhaps I am mistaken. This boat has a live well over the fuel tank hatch and...

    Diver missing in my area

Huge USCG search going on for this underwater photographer. He launched his boat from the same place I hope to launch mine this weekend. The first link is a story in the local paper this morning. The second is to his website and photos...

    The Arrival

I got a phone call from the boat hauler last night. My V-20 was traveling through Wyoming on it's way west. It should arrive here in Northen CA this evening. The hauler says it needs a good going over. It may not be the "ready to splash" boat I was looking for but by god it's MINE!!!! I'll...

    Turn off the snow machine!

If it's not too much trouble I'd appreciate it if one of the "gods" on this site would turn off the big snow machine thats moving across the northeast. It's gonna slow down my V20's trip west.

    Jet Boats

The subject of jet boats was mentioned in the New Old School 2 thread and it reminded me of this... On the larger west coast rivers jet boats are used for tours up river. It's a blast in the summer when on the coastal temp is 65 degrees but rises to 100+ just past the first set of hills. I've...

    Wellcraft... the EARLY years

Swede's recent posts reminded me of something.  A couple of years ago I visited my cousins in Norway.  While in Oslo I visited the Viking ship museum.  Two of the old longships are pictured below.  Both were built ~820 AD.  I love the lines on these.  By the way, "Wellcraft" means "excellent...

    Kicker for V-20

Ok guys, I need a little help. As discussed in other threads I've purchased a V in NJ. It'll be getting to my place in CA around 3/19. I want to mount a kicker on it and I'd like it run gas rather than carry a can of mixed 2 cycle fuel. My understanding is that means I'm looking a a four stroke...

    My 1st V-20!!!!

I got it!!! I won the Ebay auction for this V-20 Sunday morning. Now I just have to get it from New Jersey to Northen CA but that looks like it won't be a big hairy deal. In the meantime I'll just keep staring at these pictures... TunaHead

A couple of others that caught my eye

Both of these have been posted before but both are now on Ebay. The first is in Cranford, NJ the second is in Burnet, TX. Anybody know these? I recall the NJ V-20 being discussed before but I can't find that thread (Ok... I didn't really look all that hard.) What do ya think of em...

    Ho'in myself for a V-20

Ok... I lost out to Kevin on Old School. I'm over that now. (A visit with my Uncle Jack helped ease the pain) I found this one in CA. I've got an email out to the guy but this is all I have for now. Watcha think? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/boa/283405442.html

    True Story

God as my witness, this is a true story. My friend Tim is a church going guy.  Sunday they had a special event for the kids at church and there was a guy there making things for the kids out of balloons.  Tim's son James had the guy make a sword for him and he ran around the meeting hall area...
