Me and my regular fishing buddies are planning a trip up to VA Beach out of Rudee leaving on 12/15, fishing on 12/16, 12/17, & 12/18 then coming home on 12/19. REH - Do you think you could go? I'd need to get 1 or 2 more people, maybe Robin and Ross, to fill out my crew. If not I suppose I won't take my boat and just the 4 of us fish on Chad's.

Who's gonna be fishing?

I know, I know, the coastal fish haven't really arrived yet but I'm sure it won't be long.

I hear rumors of some nice fish caught from the Highrise to Plantation light drifting live eels if the ocean bite isn;t on yet. I know that I have plans the weekend of the 18th, but may have to burn a personal day that week and bring the Proline down. It's only 90 minutes for me.

I'll be watching my daughter graduate from Paramedic school, if not for that I'd sure like to go.

yall go have fun and let us know AND TAKE PICS :thre:

Roger that good buddy.....

Slot I just checked the reports this morning and saw the same. I've never done the eeling thing but need to start.

Just seeing if any of the brethren will be out on the high seas. I figure we could maintain radio contact and keep each other up to speed on the bite if it isn't that obvious come game day.

Slot as time draws near lemme know if you'll be trying it and I'll do the same.

Over and out......Blue Runner standing by....LOL

Attention striper lovers...catching has begun out of Rudee. BIGGUNS! Purported 30 - 35 lb average catches with many citations b/t up to 45+ lbs. One boat last week had 4 citations out of 12 fish b/t 42 - 45 lbs. WOW. We'll be fishing for snowy stripers starting on Thursday. Calling for hi of 35 degrees and 40% chance of snow showers as of right now. I had some stitching work done on the enclosure yesterday.....darn good thing!

Nautical forecast looks good right now. Who's gonna be out there braving the cold & snow? Airslot?

So did you guys make it out this past weekend. I have my boat in a slip in Lynhaven so I could get out more but I have only been out four times in the past month. The fishing was hot a few weeks back but the cold weather has turned off the fish. Over Christmas I hope to get out 2 or 3 times and try my luck in the ocean. The good thing is I don't have to deal with Owls Creek ramp this year. If your going keep an eye out because I heard they are going to be closing down ruddy inlet some to repair the bridge. Not sure of what was decided but here is a link about the meeting.

SR - the trip was a BUST. You are right about the cold weather turning them off. Highest water temp we saw was 42 degrees. Saturday it snowed about 2" while we fished. We rode all over the Atlantic Ocean only to catch one, ONE stinkin fish that wasn't even a keeper. It was a suckfest. Our buddy boat managed to catch 2 barely keepers and a throwback. It was fun though. Had the Mr. Heater crankin inside the enclosure. We stayed very warm. We actually had 2 Mr. Heaters with one as a backup but we ran "twins" occasionally. :sun:

Well we finally got out on Saturday but had to run 60 miles south to Duck NC to find the fish. It was worth the trip because we caught our limit and it was a great day on the water. The fish were not that big 40,38,29,30 but we caught them. I'll try to post a pic or two.

I assume you are talking about Saturday 1/1? I've read lots of reports about that bite off Duck this morning. Sounds like it is time to hit Oregon Inlet!?!?

Glad you got em SR.

Sorry it was 1/1 and its a long run from Lynhaven where I have my boat.

Cooking some up tonight when I get home. I'm thinking about pulling my boat out of the water and trailering it down to Nags Head this weeking to do some fishing.
