If anyone is interested I can check this one out as I live nearby. These boats are amazing hulls with a 24 degree deadrise. Ray Hunt design later became Albemarle hulls in 24'.

not a hunt design, aronow/wynne i believe. great hull and you are correct that it became the 24 albemarle as well as many others

when i was looking every formula i foud and looked at had rotted stringers! a friend of mine use to have one that was a great boat in the ruff!! but you rolled like a mother when drift fishing!

The FORMULA 233 IS the Hunt design as it is built on his 24.5 degree deep V and 6 lifting strake design just like the early BERTRAM race boats were built. Don Aranow designed the hull, but off of Hunt's deep V design. I've done ALOT of research on the FORMULA 233 as I started to buy one awhile back. Unfortunately I'm broke now, but I never could find one that wasn't rotted out for less tahn an arm and a leg.

in an effort to avoid a "pissing contest" i wont respond to the hunt/aronow thing. i will however tell you that the boat i owned before the v20 i just bought was an albemarle. it was a 26 center console and i sea trialed the 24 center before i bought the 26. both boats are incredible sea boats because of the heavy construction and 24 degree deadrise. however, they are not very comfortable on the drift as a result of all that deadrise. the 24 can tend to be a bit wet as well as there isnt a whole lot of bow flare

Hey Steve, we are neighbors I am in Ellicott City and over in Beverly Beach too!. I always thought the 233 was a Hunt design and I am always right just ask me;-)). Actually thinkl I remember some time ago there was a pissing match on another forum about that very question and someone wrote Ray Hunt and associates to verify that the Formula 233 was their design. Anyho I have a lead on a clean 77 235 slickcraft that looks close to the 233 has a 22 deadrise and was rack stored 297 orig hrs if anyone is looking for a similar project to this boat.
