1990 Sport 20 - What is it worth?

I own a 1990 Sport 20, with a 1985 Mercury 150hp Black Max that runs like a champ. I don't think I'll ever be able to bring myself to sell it, I love it so, but I've always wondered - what's it worth?

The Sports' in good condition. The Merc got a new lower unit in 2004, and the powerhead is original.

Just curious if anybody wants to venture a guess?

Thanks.

bigblue..got any pics of it?it would help us in giving you a price range on it...where ya located?

Based on what you've given us to go on, I'd say $2500 to $5000...trailer?...canvas?...condition?

Kajun's right...pictures ... more info could very easily increase an estimate if positive... ;) ...

tsubaki, thanks for the link.... NADA puts it at around $4,500 for the boat with the options.

Are they any sites out there that will give you a value for older outboards? I realize this is all very subjective.

I do have some pics that I'll try to post later today...

Yes, there's the trailer, bimini top, and custom full cockpit canvas in good condition.

This guy in town wanted to get rid of it in 2000 and sold it to me for $9,500.

Kajun, I'm in Mallett's Bay, Vermont on beatiful Lake Champlain.

charlie_the_tuna, would you charge me anything to deliver it to you? ;-)

Thanks for all the input, guys.

Hey tsubaki, thanks for the welcome! This is a really great site and forum.

charlie_the_tuna, I really appreciate the generous offer but as I said, I don't know if I'll ever be able to sell her... if I do I'll let you know and maybe even deliver to L.I. ;)

macojoe, Bradford, Vt... never been there. It's about an hour and a half away from me, closer to New Hampshire than Lake Champlain.

So, here are some pics of the Sport... http://re-ignitionroundtable.blogspot.com/

I've concluded it's probably worth around $5,000 - $6,000 boat, motor, trailer, et al. I could probably get more for it around here seeing as how it's the only Wellcraft of it's kind I've ever seen on the lake. That's what drew me to buying it to begin with.

Nice talking to you gentlemen, see you around the forum. Nice to be here. If you're ever in the Mallett's Bay area, look me up!

Bird,

Why didn't you say you had a dual console? That boat is sweet. I have an 86 dually.

I think you're estimate is probably close to right on, but you may be able to get more because of the fact that it's a dually in really nice condition.

Thanks for the pics. It's always nice to see another dually. Hey, why don't you do us a favor and get a gallery and post your pics there? I know others would appreciate it as well.

very nice center console....and exactly the V20 i'd like to have ;D..i got a 1990 18 sport....$6k+ would be a good price for it.

Guys,

Just checked in here...

Yeah, dual console - I love it...

The versatility of it is what I enjoy. Perfect for fishing, although it's tough to get into the thick for bass, but on the lake here that's not always necessary - also perfect for taking a couple friends and the wife out water skiing and the like.

I'll definitely try to get a gallery up and running and post some more pics. She goes in the water for the summer this weekend if the weather holds up...

Kajun, yeah the CC is my bro's Whaler. Nice boat.
