19M prop ??

I have been looking to find out what the prop I got on my V-21 200 Yamaha. The stamp on it is 19M I get the 19 but what does the (M) stand for? It runs 48.7 Miles Per on the GPS at 5200 RPM IS this good or should I be looking for a diff size?:head::head:
 
Both props on my 150 Yammies say 19m on the outside prop cup and on the backside (where it seats against the thrust washer) along with the size. But i don't know what the m means either. :head: I will put a picture below of the thrust wahser side. I would say you have a good prop for 49 mph at 5200 rpm.

Thats the style of prop(tells you what kind of blade design) it is, its a good general use wheel. They've now started giving them fancy names.
 
I have a 19 pitch on my '99 200 yamaha as well (bolted onto my '89 V-20 Cuddy). I am seeing the same numbers. 49-50mph with the motor trimmed and turning about 5000-5100 rpms. I have been thinking about trying a 17 pitch to get more rpms out of it. Any thoughts out there?

I have a stainless 17 from my original '89 225 yamaha, when I put it on and trim her up she cavitates so I am thinking of possibly having it cupped some more.

Generally speaking, the rule of thumb is that if you're running an alum prop and you switch to SS you go down one pitch. So a 19p Alum becomes a 17p in SS. Again, this is a general rule of thumb... individual results will vary depending on load, hull, etc etc. :head:
 
the general rule of thumb is that 1" in pitch = 200 rpm. Going from a 19 to a 17, should get you from 5000/5100 to about 5500. I would then add a heavy(size 2) cup on the wheel, and you should get a very low slip ratio, probably turn ROUGHLY 5400, and get 2-3 more mph.

I believe that the M stands for Michigan wheels, the prop manufacturer, which is like an "oem" prop manufacturer. By far the most popular out there.
