well here are some photos of my 60 gal fuel tank removal, on my 86 v20 c/c.
i drained fuel, filled with water to remove gas vapors, let it fill for a while, left water in tank and with a pneumatic wheel cutter cut a slot, large enough to fit a steel bar inside tank, well that didnt work, it was lifting the boat off the trailer. so we drained the tank and cut off the entire top of tank and carefully cut holes into the floor of tank and placed the sling inside the hole and finally it was coming out.

sorry for the late reply, i purchase the 60 g. tank from rds alum. in perry florida, ( original tank mfg) and i paid $580.00 total ,$100 was for s/h to crystal river,fl

WOW! mine came out in one piece after digging the foam from all sides.
It looked just as crusty...

Thats a good price for a custom tank.

i also got one from rds in perry. they are only 130 miles, so i drove over and picked it up. they had it in stock and sitting 0n the self. price also includes a new style fuel sending unit.

i chose not to foam mine in again. i cut some strips from one of those high density foam pool floats. laid those on the hull and mechanically strapped the tank in place. once i run the gas in it out, i'm going to pull it again an see how it's doing after one year.

good job

i was going to powder coat the tank but when i called RDS, he told me not to powder coat, but to apply cold tar. My G/F dad told me to do that when i got the tank, BEST TO LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF EXPERIENCE . :nice::nice:
