added so new pics

Edge of that piston was rough...did carbon deposits knock that off or did it just fail over time?...we gonna see pics goin' back in?... :D...
 
I think it was the wrong plugs before i started the motor i changed the plugs the ones i took out where 5 heat ranges to high
 
That shouldn't hurt the motor if it's running slightly rich. We use to run the hottest plugs avail in our race engines and in my street cars. Also my jet ski's i run the hottest plug avail too.
 
then i just dont know, i looked at it close today it looks like it just flaked apart down to the top ring and the piston moves back and forth in the bore about an 1/8 inch using my finger
 
sounds like it may have been put up warm at some point in the fall or winter and that it made condensation when the cold night came. Then the moisture froze over the winter around the upper ring. That I have seen and it will cause the top of a piston to crack then when the motor is run and gets warm it starts to flake apart.

Just my .02 worth of thoughts. Who Knows
 
it almost looks like some one droped a nut into her the head is digned up to i will never know , but i want too
 
yes you are right but alum do the damage to the head i got some heavy nicks in that cast iron head ill post pic this week
