Airslot.....

I was out of town this weekend to see the mighty Mountaineers kick Syracuse's ass. How was the fishing around here? Get anything?

WOW. DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL AND YOUR LIVES FLASH BEFORE YOUR EYES WHEN YOU OPENED THIS POST?

THATS RIGHT BABY, I AM FINALLY A

GOD!!!!! ;D ;D :o ;D

WHY THANK YOU BR, NOT THAT I HAVE HALF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE REST OF THE GODS, BUT IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE FIFTH STAR FINALLY.

ANYONE ELSE CATCHING ANY FISH?

Well Cy, it's all about the Mighty Chesapeake. Unfortunately it just ain't goin on in our home pond if ya know what I mean. Rocks, Rocks, and mo' Rocks. One more cold front and it's on, full bore baby.

Air: around our inlets is it better to fish the incoming or out going tide. Or does it not matter.

Is it better inside or out side of the inlet.

This is my first year with a boat and would like to try Gargatha Thursday for some rocks.

CY, Turbo's just down the street from me. Inlet fishing...outgoing tide is carrying the bait out to the fish...sounds like a good time to be there ;)

CY Im from Greenville N.C. but moved to a small town called Mappsville, Va. Been here 17 years now and finaly got my own boat.

Wife dont like to fish unless the fish are biting. Now has any body been able to tell weather or not they will get a bite before they go. "WOMEN". But the son on the other hand understands we might or might not get a bite but at least we get away for a while.

So im trying to keep him hooked on fishing so we have more father son quality time.

Air where do you get your eels from and what other bait would you use other than eel.

Eels are in stock now at SeaHawk Sport Center in Pocomoke. For the next few weeks you can still find a live spot I'd think and they would work great also. The big rock aren't really here yet.

Thanks Air. I'll give Mat a visit.
Can you keep them things alive in a bucket for a few days.

Not really after a BIG rock just a bend in the rod

Yep, keep em cool and damp, but not submerged in water and they'll live a good while. Don't leave em in a bucket in the garage, they like to go lookin around ;)

If you leave them in water, they'll use up the oxygen and drown. If you leave them under a wet towel they can breathe for a long time. If you leave them in a bucket, they WILL get out and go looking around your garage, boat, or where ever you have left them. Amazing little suckers ;)

Just curious, how do you guys fish eels down there?

If it is deep, say over 40 ft with current I like to 3 way them on a drift. other then that maybe a 1 ounce egg sinker if any and just keep feeding line to keep them on the bottom during the drift.

Air I went to Seahawk today around 10:30 and found he was closed. ???

How dare he take time off when people need him to be open. So what if he has a personal life and wants to fish also. ;D ;D

Oh well I guess I will have to make another trip later today. Sign said back around 12 to 4 for muzzle loading help. ;)

Oh yeah, forgot, Matt is usually closed Wednesday in the fall/winter.

I may try to get out tommorrow am.
