i just wrote this post on another forum..so i'll just copy and paste it to save time lol

"well a week or so ago..i installed a new waterpump because i was getting a overheat alarm when i hit 40mph, i dropped boat in water to check it out...got out about 50ft from dock.. hit a sand bar then broke my steering cable trying to get off it...made it back to dock..no symptoms of overheating or blockage...

yesterday i installed a new steering cable and decided i'll go fishing and test out the water pump again ..dropped boat in water last night....warmed her up for about 5 mins.. took off..got outside of the no wake zone and hit the throttle...jump up on plane and immediately get a overheat alarm....$#@%!....i knew this was not good...i turned her around and coasted back into dock slowly.. praying i wouldnt blow this motor also.....docked..turned off engine pulled cowling...she was hot!..no false alarm this time.

tonight..i decided to pull the heads to check/clean the water circulation system....wow..there she was...both sides full of sand! blocked up like you just ate a whole block of govt. cheese! before i pulled the heads i checked compression..all good...luckily i seen no signs of damaged cyl's. rings or pistons.

tommorow gonna flush her out and check more passageways...here's some pics of what less than 2ft of water and a sand bar will do to your motor.

Measure the thickness and cut your own. The thickness of the gasket is important as it sets the impeller to housing clearance.
