Americans, the best

Thanks for posting that, Willy...a whole new angle on the day. I for one had never considered...I almost welled up when the call went out and saw the shots of all the boats coming...

The worst of times bring out the best of people...

Touched me too willy. I thought I posted that one here, but must have been another site. Show's what we're made of when the call comes.

very moving its the everyday man who is most important in disasters

I agree. It was titled "Americans", but I am sure people like yourself all over the world would do the same, esp the "everyday man" as you say it.

There was a recent video that was seen by many recently about a group of bystanders that lifted up a BMW car on fire to free a motorcyclist who was pinned under it. There was even a female in the group that was assisting while a guy in a suit (assumed to be the driver), just stood by and watched.

Wow! That really gives a guy a feel good story for the day that changed everything. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the ironworkers that helped in the rescue. They are changed men forever but in a better way as they to seen the greatness in man when called on.
Thanks for that post!
