and the verdict is.....

went over and finally got the new water hose on and new thermostat in.....and......

SHE LIVES!!!!!!

she fired right up and ran like a champ at the dock. had her at cruising RPM till she warmed up and watched the thermostat kick in.....

Watch out boys.......IM BAAACCCCKKKK:sly:

Thats great CY, what happened to it and what did ya have to replace?

They're good motors. I just helped my buddy rebuild his 22 year old 170. He didnt know how many hours it had on it. It runs great now.

thanks boys, just gonna be me, the bait, the boat, and hopefully some fishies on sunday....All my fishing buddies are out of town and it is the last day of the tourney. Plus I turn 30 on Monday and when the wife asked what I wanted for my bday I said

"6 hours alone with the fishies on my boat sunday"

Your lucky, that wouldn't work with mine. She'd insist on going and then she would be a PITA the whole time.

my wife always wants to go, but I no let her go on commercial days, so she isa only able to go like 3 times a year, but I make sure the weather is less then perfect so she is not wanting to go again to quick!

my wife refuses to go on my boat.....since it caught on fire on the initial test drive 4 years ago......:zip:

That brings back BAD memories for me there now. I was 50 miles off of MONTAUK when the 43' TORRES we had just bought had a generator fire. Sure got us going, espescially considering the seas were true 6 footers with a 20 knot wind building up.

the impeller went bad on my test drive and with no water coming in to cool her down one of the exhaust hoses melted to the side of the manifold. THICK BLACK smoke coming out of every hole on the boat....:zip:
