How hard is it and how much can I expect to pay for controls on a 91 150 Yamaha ? is this one worth looking at ?

You can try to post on cragslist for control.I needed one for a 2001 Johnson,and picked one up for $125.00.

$1700 is a lot of money for a 150 hp 1991 Engine, no matter who makes it. Add to that $100-400 for a stainless steel prop or $75-150 for an alum prop, and $100-200 for the controls and suddenly you're at the $2000 mark. Plus how are you going to hear it run without the controls and wiring? I think you can do better. (IMHO)

They are great motors, but 1991 they were still made with the steel shift rod, they did not change that till the saltwater series 1994, So make sure that has been changed before you buy! You have to remove the power head to replace. The replacements are stainless
