Anybody use smart tabs?

yes, I had a set on my old 20ft Whaler outrage. They work great ...Frank

You have to watch any kind of tabs backing up but they are in the down position until you get up on plane and stay there until you throttle down. I never had any problems as I always go slow in reverse and never noticed any handling problems and they are not that big. I have large bennets on my big boat and sometimes forget that they are down and dont notice it until I throttle up. I would be more concerned about putting them on a hull powered by a jet drive outboard because if you stop in shallow water they will be on the bottom which is not good...Frank

Wow, good info on that link, for the first 1/4 of it. It turned into a bunch of guys arguing. Stupid. I don't think I'll visit that forum again.

"Theres no place like home" ;D

I go to another site for my truck, and there was a war on there you would not belive!!

I have no Idea were the Moderators were on that site?? But I would never let things get 1/4 that bad!

I put them on my 79 V20. Best improvement I ever made to a boat. Every boat I will ever have will have them on it.

Unless you plan on backing up at full throttle they will never have a problem. They are mounted at 25 degrees, so that only sticks maybe 2 1/2 inches from transom bottom at full down.

Very easy to install.
