They are very nice boats!! I had a friend with one and you won't be disapointed!!

Just remember its a 18 footer and don't go were you shoud not!!

As for thr Force motor, Don't put no money in it!! Just run into the ground and get something else!! They are not worth the gas to put in them!

Of coarse I have said that to someone else on the board and I think his is still running? But realy they are junk, So no you are going to have to replace it at some point!!~

Boat looks like it is in nice shape!!

Here is mine and yes Im runnin a Force, but mine is a 96, not the older US marine one like in the first pic. Mine has been great but is underpowered and thirsty. I will power the 20 wth a Yammie. ;D

Welcome Aboard!  I have a 1990 V20 Sport powered by a Force 150.  I was advised by someone on this board not to buy it because of the Force, bought it anyway because the hual was in beautiful shape.  Take care of the Force as you would any other motor.  When its time has come, its time has come. Even Yammis kick the bucket.  May the Force be with us!  Bill Mc  ;D

I too have this boat (1989) and its a good hull for it's size. The moderate Vee hull gives it a lot of stability but I've noticed it wants to wander all over in a following sea.
This boat was one of three "package boats" featured in the Jan 1989 issue of "Boating" magazine. It was factory supplied with the Force engine and the EZ loader trailer to keep selling prices competitive.
My Force engine was replaced with a Merc inline six 115hp before I got the boat .and it's not enough. Its rated for a 150 and could use all of that.

thanks for the welcome and info :)..yea i like the boat so far..been out in a few times...much better than what i had lol......but after seeing the gallery of the V20's i wish i would have found one of those lol

my force is giving me problems already..so i'm thinking about repowering...i found this used 2001 mercury 125 saltwater 2 stroke that i'm thinking about buying...the guy heard a click click click sound on it ...so he bought a new and bigger motor.........its at a marine shop and i'll talk to the mechanic's on monday to see what the problem was with it.....hopefully i can get a decent used motor....the guy wants 2.3k for it..he originally wanted 2.8k

since i paid $4500 for this boat and motor...i just cant see paying $6000-8000 for a new motor....plus i really dont have the cash.

Have the motor looked at, if it is simple and you can get by for a bit then do it,
But if it needs something thats going to cost $$$ Then forget it, and look for a good used motor till you can get something real good later on.

There are alot of good motors for around $2000 , that will get you going for a few seasons till you can save again!!

I am on a $2000 motor going on its 4 season with very little work needed.
Just keep your eyes open.
