Back Up Plan

I was Finally able to get my son turned on to what I think is one of the most fighting fish (pound for pound) on the Atlantic Coast. We went out to the CBBT looking for Flounder but we couldn't find any keepers. Luckly I brought some preshucked Clams as a backup plan. We were able to limit out on Spade fish. They were not real large today but even a small one pulls great.

Them there are fun to catch. We call em ANGEL FISH down here in FLORIDA though. I remember slow fishing days going up to the piers by the beach and catching em on the bait rigs. They pull like crazy on 10 lb test.

Man they do look just like the angel fish in our aquarium! Also what exactly is the CBBT ? I know it's abbreviated on here, but us Yankees "up heeyah" need some translation. Nice catch nevertheless.

They are outstanding table fare. Just skin like you would a Catfish, felit them, and trim the dark meat out. Then cook anyway you like. I like to put them on the grill.

Cool Pics. 2ndchance, I dove out of Nags head and seen those fish on a wreck, slightly bigger though. I thought those fish were called Sheep-Heads....??? ???
