Eat the rich, Our budget put into perspective

That was a really good video, explains the spending problem perfectly. I heard Neal Boortz explain it similarly. Tax the rich! Ha ha!

According to the Obamination in the past two days, which actually he has been saying all along but finally a blip in one of the major news outlets, ( what I prefer to call, the Stenographers ) "how much do people need to make, at some point it is enough, I mean if you make a million dollars a year that should be enough"

Thus we have the nitty gritty of where are nation is at in history.
Do you believe in our Constitution and the personal and economic liberties guaranteed to you by God, and for the first time in human history put down in a set of Law's by men of great wisdom and voted into law by a people yearning to be free.
Or do you believe in a government run and based economy, redistribution of what you earn, where your liberties are granted by the government and the Constitution is a " document of negative liberties that only restricts government" and therefore needs to be maneuvered around. As per the Two Legger who put his hand on a Bible and Swore to uphold the Constitution.

The choice is painfully clear to all who are proud, willing to work and be part of the American Dream.

Then there is those, who have lived in an entitlement society, have no wherewithal to lift themselves out of it and will always vote to give themselves more. If they lose liberty its OK, I got my government check.

In the end, we will all have to make that choice, and this presidential election in 2012 will determine what you will leave as an inheritance to your children and grand children.
It is that important.
I know where I stand

Ya'll can keep pointing fingers at the Left (or Right depending on you politics) if ya wanna...that's what they WANT you to do because it keeps us divided and distracted from what's REALLY going on...

Our politicians ARE SCREWING US from BOTH sides of the aisle...if we ever wake up and start holding all our elected officials accountable for what they do with our money and our lives, we might be able to get together and save this country...

The video misses the point, misdirects us against each other and protects the political status-quo and all the WRONG BEING DONE ON BOTH SIDES that's destroying this wonderful country of ours...I love this country and it breaks my heart to see these greedy politicians getting rich on our backs and tossing our history and all who died for this country down the drain...

Oz my friend that is exactly what that video is portraying. The fallacy of the political elite in this country. Those that Nancy Pelosi was speaking to last Friday in Boston.
She reached out in that speech to her "friends" in the republican party, telling them that their values and those of the Statist's in the Democratic Party (progressives) are one in the same, that if they (in her own words) would get control of the "radicals" in their party, the so called Tea Party and lay the law down to them, then future elections would be meaningless and we could govern as we have.

In all actuality my friend, though we do have some issues we may not agree on, the core values of limited small government, individual liberty and individual responsibility and the love of our Nation and Constitution and the desire to pass these opportunities on to our descendants I believe we share. I know this because I have seen how you live your life and how you raise your family, I know this because you are willing to work and sacrifice to get ahead. I know this because you would no more take a dollar from your neighbor who has earned it to further yourself than you would shoot yourself in your foot.
In reality those elites in Washington are the lowest of life in our country, because they feel they know better than us and they will decide how we will live. They consider themselves a ruling class, they are in both parties.
The only thing they are afraid of is Citizen action and organization.
Thus demagogue, harass, belittle, lie, call them racists, Nazi's, Klan, radicals, astro turf.
They are afraid of these Citizens, they are called the Tea Party, and they are afraid because they dared to organize and pressure the political elite to do the right thing and obey the Constitution.
No my friend it is not us, who endeavor to further honest political discourse, who sometimes see things differently but stand always on the principles, values and integrity that our Nation has always held dear.
It is the Elite that we need to remove.
in this next election if the candidate is not supported by the Tea Party he will not get my vote.

heard a radio show(WWL New Orleans) the other day that put the budget crisis in perspective for me. if you do away with all of the zeros on the numbers that are thrown around, the goverment owes $14,000 a month, the goverment takes in $9,000 a month, the budget cuts that the big fuss was over would amount to $3.50 a month savings.

my dad told me along time ago, you can't borrow your way out of debt.

The problem is that you really don't know an elected official until he or she has been in office.... and with the long terms they have (4 years for a congressman and 6 years for a senator) once they are elected it's like trying to remove a buried tick to get them out....and meantime they do so much damage that it's almost impossible to undo it at times.

There really is no ironclad way of knowing what a politician's agenda is going to be until after they are elected, so the only thing that we, as citizens, can do it be very, very, careful about who we elect. Elections have consequences, sometimes very dire ones, as we have seen in our last presidential election. Unfortunately, with a media that is overwhelmingly biased towards one party, getting unbiased reports and opinions is next to impossible. Not impossible, just next to impossible. We, as citizens, need to look at any person that is running for office from both sides. They need to be scrutinized under a microscope before they get our votes.

Unfortunatly, there are a lot of uninformed, stupid, lazy people that are only interested in what the government will give them that are leading us down a path to ruin. It is up to us to educate them, as well as ourselves, to any deragetory information about a cannidate. Only by exposing these leaches to the full light of day can we hope to at least counter their stupidity and greed. :head:

Can you not see that IT IS the people against each other? We had sweeping elections where new people were brought into offices to reform budgets. Then upon reform of those budgets, we had major protests from those who stood to lose some ground through budget reform. They will rally their freinds and family for change at the ballot box next time around and may or may not get it. If they do, then taxes will go up and you have another rally among conservatives to reduce govt. What makes now different than before is that we've reached the tipping point. So how about let's hold these politicians accountable for the job they were elected to do -- reduce the deficit and debt. If they can't get it done, then they can go, too.

It will always be the productive class for the moocher class. And there will always be democrats who pander to the moochers.

Well said!

It took a day or two to get the ball rolling on this one Ferm.
Nothing new IMO. That is the problem. Same song and dance, the music is the same, the dancers are fatter and slower but they know all the lyrics by heart. Complete Earwash, followed by floundering, indecision, sidetracked by conflict and overshadowed by wrongdoing and rhetoric from every direction. We have Gov. Rick Scott in FL. that is making some serious waves in our state politics. He has managed to piss off everybody including most of the Republicans. I have no idea how he plans to get anything accomplished at this point but I applaud him for doing what he said he was going to do.

I cast a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in the Federation. That is how I feel, like Padame in the Star Wars movie, I have NO Confidence in the government. If it was only as simple as casting them all aside and resetting our Democracy for another 200 years or so.

On vetting the newcomers to the dance:
I had an elderly gentleman in the shop the other day, he said Congress should be forced to wear suits like NASCAR.
Huh? :head:
Yep, they should all have to wear suits with patches sewn on that displays all of their backers and sponsors just like NASCAR.
Then I thought of the badges I got as a cub scout.
For a second I thought, we could build on that, then reality set in. For the idea to work, Congress would need to have pride, honesty, loyalty and integrity, right now we ain't got squat gentleman. We have collectively elected a group of people to represent our intrests that are the epitome of a disfunctional social group. Many can't manage their personal affairs let alone matters of the state. Congress is so caught up in their own brand of moral turptitude and greed, he// they can't pass the lithmus test of being as honest as a bunch of wet behind the ear 8 year old cub scouts.
