finaly....

...got to go fishing saturday. for the first time in over a year, other than a couple early morning pier/wade fishing excursions before work. and for a guy that has fished at least a couple times a week since i was knee hi to a grasshopper, its been a long year. since katrina thier has just been no time, no boat, or no money.

but, that all changed the other day. the v being so close to done for the past few month with no time to finish her up, when the guys finished a job a day ahead of schedule i had them sanding off the paint that stinky dicked me on. when the wife saw the guys in the back yard she got a little bent that i was paying them for "nothing". so since she just had 2 surgeries this month, and i aint had none in a couple weeks, i promised her that i would not spend anymore money on the v till, a) i finish building our new house, or b) i get some of the doctor bills paid off. then when i saw i was gonna have saturday off(first day off in six weeks), and that the weather was gonna be perfect, all i could think about was going fishin in my own boat. all by myself.

but, the v needs new wheels and tires on the trailer, a little bit of wiring, and a new set of cables. and i promised, no more money. but, i gotta go fishing. so, what could i do. well, i'll tell ya what i did... i bought another boat! and i didnt spend a dime on the v so, the promise is still in tact!

saturday was slick calm. nice and cool with about a 5 mph blow out the north. hitide was at 4;30 am and i hit the water at 5;30. plus the north wind, i knew i would be doing more fishing than catching but, i didnt care. got to the fishing hole just before sunup. no other boats in sight, no cell phone, no problems! put a live shrimp behind a poppin cork and lit a cigarette with my left hand ;) ;)...pop pop, pop pop. life is good. finished my "cigarette" and poured some coffee from my speed racer thermos then the most wonderfull thing happened. my cork went under! i set the hook and reeled in a whopping 12 inch speck. and aas the sun started to rise i pulled in schooly after schooly. none of wich were keepers but, i cant even begin to describe how much fun i was having. i sat there for about three hours or so till my buzz wore off. and i was out of coffee and shrimp. ended up with seven keepers, including two that were well over 4 pounds. much better than i expected. but, best of all, i was fishing. not once did i think about bills, or deadlines, or any of the things that keep us working folk stressed out. nope, the only thought i had other than fishing was when i stopped to thank the lord for all the wonderfull things in nature that he created. and for giving me this opportunity to enjoy them. dude, i love to fish!

but, i am saying a different prayer now. cause i know that tomorrow she will be at my moms house where i got the boat. lord help me when she finds out!

Thats just about somes up a perfect day on the water ;D When you have all that going on in your life, and you can put it behind you for a few hours!

Funny timing, I just had 8 guys piss in the cup this afternoon ;D Funny how they all think this program is "MY FAULT", but I love it ;D
