Fishin' W/The Girls

All the aspects of something I've wanted to do for years aligned this weekend and culminated in an offshore trip with both my daughters and resulted in some great fun!!

I'll try to be brief...several years ago, a close friend died...he's the guy I used to go offshore w/frequently...he and I were just starting to talk about taking my girls for a dolphin (Mahi) trip when he got sick. He passed, leaving his boat, which was bought by another close friend of his in Charleston, whom I've become close to and who employees both my girls at his restaurant; FINZ...the guys who made the Charleston trip met him...
So...this weekend I was down there to help youngest daughter move, seas were right, time was right, so we all pushed away from the dock aboard my old friends boat, at Toler's Cove at 4:30 am and headed out to a spot about 45 miles off...running like that in the dark can have it's moments, but this one went w/out incident...so a little after sunup, we've put the lines out and had had some hits, but nothing in the boat...went to 2nd spot...picked up a few med size dolphin...Lauren(Youngest) got her 1st offshore fish...

Dad even got to fish a little

Then it's Addie's turn...w/just a little fatherly advise, she goes to work

And welcome aboard Mr Sailfish!!

This kid is STOKED and although she's been getting more and more acclimated to fishing, this REELY did it!!...w/a little help from her friends, her boss on left and his mate on right we get some quick pics and release the sail none the worse back to grow up and crash another line later on.

Dad and his girls...offshore in BLUE WATER and w/good friends...

Boys...it just don't get no better than THIS!!...Hope all of you had a great Memorial Day weekend as well!!...

Addie is my hero, she just accomplished something I never have. No sails for me yet. Congrats on a screaming good trip.

Great pics and a great day! Some of the best times I've had are fishing with my dad! I look forward to taking my kids offshore....they are still to young at 5, 7 and 10. My 10 year old son loves trolling for Spanish

I am jealous as I can be. Some of us had to -- WORK. :bat: :clap:

Old Buddy, if I had a freakin' job, I'd had to have worked TOO!!...as close as you are to blue water down there, it's hard to feel sorry for a guy w/a job...LOL!!...

Hedge, this was aboard a 28' catamaran CC recently repowered w/a couple of 250 4-stroke Zukes...from 47 miles off, we ran back in at 30.8 kts...stereo BOOMIN' and cold beer flowin...what a DAY!!...

Nice job old timer.....Willy and I were just saying last night we hadnt heard from you in a few days on the board....he must be up to something we figured.

Well done my friend:clap:

And that is a classic ear to ear grin on your pic, do not blame you one bit.
Oh congrats to both of your ladies, they are not only beautiful, personable and smart, but they FEEEESH
Very excellent

First off, freakin awesome! Wanting to take my oldest (13) some time this summer before it gets too hot.

Secondly, they have now blocked off everything except Picasa web albums here at work so I can't see the darn pics. Kinda like reading a book I guess - I can imagine what they look like but I'll bet they are better than my imagination! I'll definitely check this one out from home though.

Congrats to Oz and daughters!!

Thanks to you and the young whipper-snapper above...when it comes to FEEEESHIN', you gotta start 'em early...

You've had some rough times lately Reel... but I think that you're the richest guy in those pics. Well done!! ...and grats to both your daughters for their offshore fishing... hopefully they are hooked for life.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I believe they are hooked Destroyer. Addie has that look in her eye when fishing and so enthusiastic. Reel is blessed with some good youngins. They raised them right and the results show. Money can't buy class. But if class were money, the cup overflowith there.
Noone goes to their grave saying "I wish I had spent more time working." That trip was epic, plenty of time for work later. Thanks for sharing buddy.

Way to go Ozzie! Looks like you had a great weekend. I spent the weekend towing. Hoping to make my first run of the season to Tices Shoal this weekend.

Nice pics of fish and the girls. I get all smiles when my daughter outfishes the guys she brings along.
Ain't it great!!!

Most excellent post! :clap::clap::clap:
Good for you reel. There's a trip you'll all be talking about and remembering fondly for the rest of your lives.
