Fortier 26

got a couple friends with the 26 fort. one of ems up on the cape... you mass guys ever see the "ORION" ? fished the fortier many times... takes forever to run the canyon but what a way to go. excelent boat.

more like yank the gas 350 out and put a 250 cummins then you would have something

Fortiers are beautiful boats. Fishmaster - I used to see "orion" all the time fluke fishing off mashnee flats. That guy always caught the biggest fluke drifing right down the edge of the West End of Canal Channel near the sand spit. I know that boat well.

Hmm.........I might have seen that boat? is it Blue & White ??
I use to fish there all the time but have not been there in like 4 years or better now.

there was a Fortier 26 always moored in Northport Harbor for years...always admired that boat.... beautiful, and yes, getting rid of the gas motors on those boats mentioned and going diesel would be the ticket!

hey bigshrimpin, thats the guy. names ed reindfleisch. unbelievable fisherman. fluke, bass, tuna, shark... you name it. i was best friends with three of his four kids. hell of a nice guy too. also held a couple line class world records for a time.

ed's boat, by the way, was a deisel. slower than SH1T but run at 15-18 knots all day while sippin fuel.

I belive the blue and white one I see is in Vinyard sound. Thought it might have been the same one, guess not.

15 18 knots is about all that hull is capable of being a Semi-displacement hull

That's okay -- I'm slowing down, too. :P

Is the diesel more miserly on fuel? That's got to be the big advantage. Two things I don't like about diesels are the vibration factor and the fumes. I believe the new Fortiers all come with diesels.

Diesel raise fish though, the low rpm vibration travels a long way through the water, then big fish come to investigate. Outboards and I/O's have a dam shrill whine under the water.
