Amen, brother. When I paid the bill ($95) I asked to be shown the location of the fuse that had blown. "Sure, I will go ask Steve (and not my mechanic/friend who I thought had done the work) where it is. I then asked hey, can I get another fuse to have in the event it blows again. I was pretty surprised when he came back a couple minutes later with a 20A automotive type blade fuse. I was thinking it was some type of special fuse, but it was clearly not. So, I now have a spare 20A fuse (he gave it to me for free--thanks for the 14 cent discount), a spare 90A fuse I replaced when I did not need to do so, yet a lingering fuse blowing issue which first occurred when the boat was new. It would blow a couple of ignition fuses in the fuse panel each season. I then replaced the engine in 2006 with a brand new mercruiser 190 h.p. 4.3 liter V6. In 2010, the 90 amp fuse which connects to the solenoid blew. Then, this year, I had that 20A fuse blow. I must have a problem somewhere in the wiring. Curiously, however, the 50A circuit breaker on the engine has never blown. Hmmmmm.
