I have a 75 v20 with 20 gall. saddle tanks, I am getting water in my fuel vent in rough conditions. any suggestions on how to correct the problem. FYI when I redid my tanks I mounted vents with the screens facing down. i did not put a clamshell cover, should I have?

Did you route the hose from the vent upwards towards the gunwale before turning downwards to the fuel tank? It's like installing an inverted p-trap. Also, have the vent angled at 45 degrees toward the stern.

It's funny my fuel vent, bilge pump, and fishboxes drain hoses all had full loops in them. I took care of the drain hoses already but when I changed the vent hose I put it back the way it was. I'll fix that tomorrow. Glad I saw this thread since I plan on taking my boat to the marina tomorrow.

Do like MJ said.
Make the new locations above the rub rail and just leave the old ones in place so you don't need to patch the holes.
