fuel hoses to carbs

I have a small fuel leak in one of the small hoses leading to the lowest carb of three on my old Evinrude V6 150 hp.

The nipple is way under there, nearly impossible to reach. I cleared everything on the side where the tube comes from, but I am unable to push a new fuel tube onto the nipple, regardless of lubing it with oil, etc.

I am thinking of heating the end of a long piece of fuel line with a hot air blower and then quickly pushing the tubing onto the nipple. After it cools I would push a hose clamp plastic tie up over the nipple.

Anyone know a better way?

Turns out they were ALL rotten and either leaking or ready to start leaking. So I laboriously replaced them all. BTW I was having trouble with the one under the bottom carb only because I was trying to put 1/4" tubing on a 5/16" hose barb. When I got the correct hose, I could push it on that barb from beside the engine on the port side. I was able to use long needle-nose pliers to twist the protruding part of the plastic tie to secure the hose on the barb from the starboard side. The rest of the short length hoses were easy after that. I pumped the squeeze prime bulb hard to test for leaks. I used a mirror in bright sun to really see under there. No leaks.
