Last Sat. it was blowing about 20-25 out of the North.....needless to say it was a little soupy out there , so I decided to work instead. On my way to the job I happen by a garage sale at 8am. The lady says come back at 9. After a brief conversation she let me do some earlybird shopping. What a score....recently deceased husband was a boater/ fisherman/ tradesman. I suppose some family members got the lions share but I came away w/ a few items.....a 1985 Johnson 2hp "colt" outboard....very good shape, no spark. Threw in a set of points and condencer, the usual rotten gas first aid and it starts on the second pull...runs like a champ. Next, a Troybuilt riding mower 42", 13hp B&S engine, 6speed. Brand new battery and all service records since new.....wants 350.00, I get it for 175.00. Aside from two small rips in the seat,it's in VERY good cond, starts instantly and mows great. Lastly , a deck seat/chair. Dont know the brand, it looks like a decent BoatersWorld special, almost perfect cond. The little rubber booties that go on the legs are dry rotted, outside of that it's pretty nice. I say how much for the chair, she says 40, quickly, [and sort of kidding around] I say hows about 10.00, she says just as quickly, "fine its yours". I couldn't believe it. Gotta love a good garage sale! That was about it for me....there were some crappy fishing poles and waders from the 60's, the rest was brick a brack junk.
