Hiliner 222 project

I always liked that hull. Kind of a cross between a V20 and a Bertram. 8) He's had that one posted on craigslist for quite some time.

Me too!! I really like the Hiliner 222 Gypsy Model.

These boats have a pretty interesting history. The Gypsy molds were picked up by Boston Whaler and they built a few V hulls (non cathedral hull) boats They called the model "Voyager" in the late-70's. It looks very similar to the Bertram 20 Bahia Mar.

Another few thinks I like about these boat is that they got the fiberglass Seacraft like shell stringers (No wood) completely surrounded by foam like the whaler.

This is a great site on the hiliners.

The other boat that used this hull was the Cape Codder 19 that was built in Marion or Mattapoisett (can't remember). I've ridden in one of these and they are excellent riding hulls. The owners of RedTop (buzzards bay) had one for many years. I remeber them telling me that they would take the boat offshore . . . sometimes as far as 70 miles south of Martha's Vineyard (that was Pre-GPS time).

Tin - The Bertram 20 Bahia Mar is 24degrees. I think this is essentially the same hull minus one running strake.
I've seen it up close and it's a Deep Deep V.

I've seen em around . . . That's too much $$ for me especially with 2 seacrafts (Seafari and Master Angler). Gotta start a boat rental biz, so I can buy some more oldies :)
