Finally, after 2 trips to the UPS place. Yeah, I know, I said they were going to deliver it, but they changed that themselves. Good thing I checked the UPS tracking web site. Anywho, just to prove it's here, and to satisfy Hammers never ending thirst for pic-tars...

As delivered (picked up)

And here she sits, proudly upon the lower

Now I just need an alignment tool, 2 qts of earl, and a pressure test just to make sure.

still got your old input shaft from the old upper? knock the u-joints out, take the o-rings off and use it as an alignment shaft, it should slide in easy, two fingers easy

Yep still have it. I have heard others say not to do that, but I can't see why not. Either it goes in easy or it don't. I may just go ahead and do that. Gracias. ;)

a proper line up shaft should be a tighter fit, but back when OMC was making the cobra, the line up shaft they used was a whole lot smaller than the merc( used the same spline size and diameter), you could line up an engine with an OMC shaft, and the merc shaft wasn't even close to fitting. If you use teh old shaft, you may have to weld a handle on it so you'll have something to grab when you pull it out

Well, I deinstalled the old yoke and it worked perfectly for an alignment tool. Slid right in, with zero force, 1 finger pressure. I see this thread is gonna get ugly with a statement like that :-X

We want pics. Its the weekend, you should have her done by now. ;D
Dang Hammer, I posted 3 of em. The only thing left to show is my greasy hand after extracting it from my boat's bung hole. That's just not suitable for public viewing.

I'm gonna wait until I can get her pressure tested. Maybe next weekend, I dunno, maybe the week after. Believe me, ya'll will be the first to see her wet.
