Just plain TIRED.......

well the company I work for does Land Planning, Civil Engineering, and Surveying. I am a Landscape Architect for those who dont know. Well due to the housing market taking a dump, we are SLOW......We design new subdivisions (housing communities). Well since no one is buying the homes that are on the market there is no reason to build new ones. The whole office has been cut to 4 days of work a week. which means I am losing a days salary every week. To make up for this I have been stocking shelves at the Home Depot Monday through Friday from 8 pm to midnight. I like working there but it is draining all the energy I used to have. So.....I am only getting like 5 hours of sleep every night.......

I am exhausted most of the time....sorry just had to vent a little.:sleep::sleep::sleep:

I feel for you bud. This housing thing is crazy. It is effecting alot of things, I mean alot. Hang in there man. Hopefully things will pick up soon. I have a feeling it won't be until after November though but hope I'm wrong.

Sorry to hear that! But things will pick up again, just have to weather the storm.
I have a bunch of friends in the restate biz and its all the same.

On the bright side I have not told any one but CB, I am buying a house right now!! I have lost 2 to higher bids then me, but I now do have a P&S on one and the closing is 4/30 provided the bank puts in a new title 5??
They are suppose to, but we will see?? If not I have been looking at others, I have 1 right now that might be considered as a runner up if this one doesn't get done.
I am buying foreclosed or Short sale houses, so there is a lot of running around the long way to get them. Benn at it since end of Jan.

Good Luck!!

PS 5 hours of sleep!! Thats more then I ever get at one time! 3 hours and I am happy!

Hang in there CB..Hopefully there is a light @ the end of the tunnel.. Hows your HomeDeps Discount???

MJ, Congratts and Good luck!!

did not want to turn this into a political thing, but you are exactly right:clap:

wish Slick Willy were running.

ya'll cant forget the checks and balance system the pres cant do anything alone he needs congress' permission. we need to make sure they get blame too.

Sorry to hear about the down sizing, but hang in there, the market will turn around soon.

I would suguest you take the boat out and relax but that would eat up a weeks worth of the Home Depot pay check in fuel.

keep on chugging Cy, I think it is going to get a little worse before it gets better though. you are doing what men (and women) have had to do to keep up for generations. you are one of the angry white men.
just don't let it get to you, vent however you have to vent, short of getting yourself locked up.
and for all of us, GW will be leaving, that is very good in my opinion. but if you think getting a socialist in there is going to help the AWM boy are you in for a serious let down.
Cy good luck and think of the blessings you do have in life, beautiful wife, good family, A JOB, and friends scattered all over the country us !

Yeah it is a buyers market for sure. I closed on my new house back in March on the 14th. I got mine for $41,000 less than the asking price. it was a foreclosure. we saw it first day on market and bought it the 3 days later. its 1250 sq ft with 3 br 2 ba with 2 acres that i got for $117,000. people are starting to buy alot here in my area i noticed due to news paper title transfers have picked up. it will get better.

CY a man does what he has to. I wish you well. Don't forget to stop now and then to breathe, like in a lamaze class. It will release some of your stress. MJ congrats! Billy Mac

its slow here(north florida) cy. i install irrigation so i feel your pain also, luckily i do a lot of service work on existing systems and that market has not slowed down at all. skools it's happening here also. house next to me was on the market last year for 325,000. sat for 14 months, & sold last month for 175,000. I heard the seller had to write a 4,000 check at closing.

Hope you get some rest soon.

Yeah, that dang George Bush, forcing all those people to buy houses they couldn't afford and making the mortgage companies lend them more money than they could pay back.

Luckily, once Hillery is in, all those people will magically be able to pay their inflated bills.

My wife and I are trying to take advantage of the buyers market too. We signed a deal on a 2 bedroom condo at the beach (Surfside SC) the other day. It is ground level and gutted to the studs so I will have to get it all refurbed on my own (hire out some and do some myself). Mom and dad bought one in the same complex last year and paid alot more, but there unit was already refurbed. Still once ours is refurbed we will come out about 35k - 40k cheaper than mom and dad due to how bad the market is this year as opposed to last.

My point is, if you can afford to invest in real estate right now is the time! We can't really afford it but we are doing it anyway!

Its a catch 22....I'll finally have the place at the beach but be too broke to buy gas for the boat. Then again, the deal could fall through as I'm headed down there this weekend to thoroughly inspect the place to see what I'm getting myself into.
