Just sharing a couple of Fav's

You guys break me up. Smooth as honey. Roy had it going on for years. BUT For some reason I have reverted back to listening to POP/Hip-Hop. Katy Perry, Nikki Manage, Pitbull, Jaylo, The Band Perry etc. Whats an i-pod? :you:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EGSlwGiXTs - Lyrics offensive to some including her parents who are traveling evangelist, at 3:00 there is a nice little sax solo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es41qdCCL74 - Pitbull/Jaylo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0iEj7alzAI - The Band Perry - Country Music played regular on the POP stations. Pretty sweet vocals.
Just one more, this one is cool for the accordian and the time lapse photography.

None are as epic as Roy but it is what my daughter likes, me too. :zip:

I was listening to the radio station of my daughters choice the other day and a song came on that had some off tune, pitchy singer that reminded me of fingernails across a black board. I asked my daughter who that was, she said it was Katy Perry, good thing shes attractive, her singing sucks.

BTW, I've got my daughter hooked on Van Halen, she loves the 1984 album. I'll be working on getting her to like the Who, and Skynyrd next.

Spare, I'll show my age and say that I got 1984 as my first cassette tape. Santa brought it to me! (Man, That dude was COOL!). I remember blasting it while riding in my dad's van with all my friends going to Showbiz Pizza for my birthday.
When the drum intro for "Hot For Teacher" came on, My mom thought we had a flat tire. LOL!!! :you::sun:

Looking back I kinda can't believe they let me listen to that stuff at that age.

My favorite tracks were Jump, Panama, Drop Dead Legs, Hot for Teacher, and I'll Wait.

Dang bradford talk about showing age, I took my wife to see them when they came to Savannah (in '84 I think). She wasn't real keen with David Lee Roth in his tights.
Last one I was able to take her into was in 1987, Kiss/Ted Nugent. For the life of me I can't figure why she wouldn't let me pick concerts to go to anymore.

And thanks willy, I flat love Roy Orbison! You got it is probably my favorite.

Sorry Ridge.. this is one of those times when I gotta disagree with you. To me (and before anyone says anything, I acknowledge that other people have other likes and dislikes) but to me, hip-hop blows chunks. It's barely better than rap, which is the bottom of the evolutionary musical ladder. I like music, not an overwhelming drumbeat and someone talking in time to it. Don't get me wrong, I love R&R, R&B, pop, jazz, classical, gospel, even new age... I'm open to just about anything.. But I just can't get into hip hop and rap.... and in all cases, this is a thread about Roy Orbison and the gift that he had. He was one of those singers that come only once in a generation. Much like Sinatra in his time.

I likes it, Chunks and All...

Database errors mothe:cen::cen::cen:. I had a clever post but it disappeared into cyberspace. You'll have to take my word for it :-)

Traveling Willburys was a great collaborative effort. Roy was a tremendous vocalist. Not my fav, but he had "IT" even in the late stages of his life.

RUSH is my fav band. Not much i won't listen to.
I didn't expect many of the V-20 guys to be down wit dat. Especially those who are, how to put this delicately, advanced in the b-day department. :sun::beer: HE HE HE!

Wore out two tape decks out because of 2112.

8 track tapes!

well, Thin Lizzy helped out too

Hell, my moms 93... that makes me and most of the "delicate" crowd not much more than kids just outta diapers.. :sun:

V H (with David Lee of course)! I have my 3 and 5 year old girls rocking to Van Halen, I know it is not going to last but I am enjoying it. That pop **** will catch up sooner or later, my wifw listens to it. But for now they think Rock and Dad are cool.
