well went fishing again today here in panama city.....first time i went out..i got pulled over and checked for fish as i was running back to the dock....today same exact thing...pulled over..checked for fish, licenses, safety equip........i'm frickin 2 for 2 on this crap....actually i cant ever remember being pulled over and searched while on the water in my LIFE.......its always at the dock or something...but here its a whole new ballgame.....this is plain and simple harassment... >:(

Its just your good looks!!

I never got boardered till I made eye contact one day, Pay them no miknd and don't look at them, they will pass you  bye.

If not tell them to take a picture so they no have to stop you any more.

In our state it was common practice to pull vessels over 16' because of the likelyhood of required equiptment not being on board and the fact that the larger vessel's owner had more money.
Yes it comes down to quota and money just smile and comply. :-/
Oh by the way, have you changed your boat registration?

Have you got a lady onboard in a bikini?

Seriously...happened to me and the Mrs. EVERYTIME we went by the CG station untill I told her to cover up till we got through there (right next to the launch). Didnt happen again... ;)

They just want a closer peek. ;D

kajun, i got pulled last week for the first time in about 15 years. the officer was real nice and quick, no checking of registration & license, just a quick look in the coolers & live wells. Also a PFD check. If you don't have fl regs on the hull that might send up a red flag. Just grin & bear it til they get to know ya. i have heard that with gas prices, they don't "patrol" anymore, but hang around the pass and do checks there. just stop & troll through the pass & they usually won't stop you..

I always look straight at em and wave. This normally throws em off. The last 2 times I got stopped were during the big GASPARILLA boat parade in TAMPA, before that the only other times I got stopped I can think of were during lobster season.

I painted "Gay Pride" in big letters on the side of your boat and fly a pair of pink panties on the antenna. Never been checked again...

Doesn't matter if a chick in a bikini is on there or not...if you have a sweet boat, stuff like this happens. You just gotta think like a water cop to know em. Say I was one, who would I pull over? Sweet boats and/or any boat with hot chicks in bikinis ;D

Just buy a Bayliner....means exactly the same thing ;D

Do you have one of those CG safty inspection stickers? If not next time they are doing inspections get one done then the only reason to stop you would be to check your fish. Last time I got pulled it scared be so bad I spilled my beer.LOl

When I lived in Miami I kept my Bonita at a dockspace I rented at the end of a canal in Coconut Grove. I'd go out everyday...sometimes at dusk and dawn. I'd get stopped by everyone. MiamiPD, MetroPD, Fla Marine Patrol, CG, Customs, & DERM. One day a 50'CG cutter followed me down the 50'wide canal to my dock JUST to tell me to slow down when crossing the channel. He had a crewman on the 50 cal on the bow too. :o

Got pulled over 5 times in 9 days in the keys. They're real serious about limits and size. Kajun, you may want to checkout the new tail pinch laws they now have on certain fish. It can get confusing.

This is what I do too, I have only been checked once, on Lake Wiley,NC/SC.

That time I rode past the "Man" with 4 adults and 8 kids in my Starcraft, it was like waiving a steak in front of a pit bull.

I could see the dissapointment on their faces when they found no violations.

Just be legal and nice, they will figure you out soon.
