My 84 V20 has a Todd pivioting pedestal helmseat. I also have a split (front and back facing) seat on the port side. I would like to get rid of the split seat and replace it with another Todd helmseat. Anyone have a used one available for sale and how much $??!

Re: Need a Todd Helm Seat

Thanks for the quick reply Lesterus. Hope you can find a mate for the helmseat. I want to build some storage behind the helmseats, including two big coolers.

Like this one? The cushions are off it, they are worn.

I replaced the old with this one.

8barrel, Sorry it took me so long to reply, been on vacation.
Looks like your helmseat is different than mine. Yours looks pretty good, but I am trying to match the one I have.

Thanks,

WOW!!! BROTHER THAT'S A TODD WITH CAPITAL "T",
I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A PAIR OF THOSE BUT THEY'RE EXPENSIVE.

ACCORDING TO MY CATALOG YOU HAVE A TODD SEAT PACKAGE 1000, PACKAGE INCLUDES:

- CHAIR W/ REMOVABLE CUSHIONS
- 15" FIXED PEDESTAL/SLIDER ASSY
- 18 1/2"D X 25"W X 21 1/2"H
- PRICE(MY COST): $286.20 + UPS TO YOU.

REGARDS, LESTERUS

Thanks for the comeback. I saw a brand new exact match for my helm seat at West Marine. Being a cheapskate, I was looking for a used Todd helmseat to match my existing seat. I think that this seat was standard on mid 80's V20's!
If I can't find a used seat, I would rather give you my business than give it to West Marine!!

Lesterus,  West Marine prices,

1000 Seat w cushions - $199.00
Pedestal                      - $110.00
+ 6% Sales Tax

Sales tax, it is a shame you are not close to Delaware,
NO SALES TAX.

Hey parishht,

Wife and I are interested in Del. for just that reason. Also, property taxes are great compared to PA. We are going to be looking in Del in the spring. I also have a house in Cape May County NJ (1 mile from Del Bay) but with the astronomical taxes and political corruption there, NJ is out of the question. When I got married I robbed the cradle so I need to wait for the wife to retire, then it is; sell NJ & PA house and off to Del or some other state, close to the water, that doesn't tax you to death.

If I have a big purchase to make,
I always wait until I make a trip to Delaware and buy it then.
I usually go to Lewes every weekend during the summer
and the once a month during winter.
Even though the winter trips are day trips,
they still feel like mini vacations.

So if I am going anyway, I might as well plan my big purchases.
People ask if the price of gas offsets the taxes saved,
probably not, but there is a peace of mind factor to consider.

Hey Geek, If you do get rid of the split seat let me know. I'd be interested in having it. I'm close enough to come pick it up. If you find a seat close to Annapolis and needs someone to look at it for you let me know.

Rick, If I find the mate to my helmseat you are welcome to my split seat. There is a helm seat on EBay that looks like mine but the guy thats selling it can't ID it as a Todd. This helmseat is in Smithtown NY that is about 2/3 out on Long Island.
