Mmmmmmm.....

Those performance numbers are what impressed me the most!
2.33mpg at almost 45mph!
Gotta love them E-tecs!

He could have save 25 grand and by repowering an older V20. Sorry had to say it. That's a lot of coinage. Of course, I couldn't see the pics. I'm sure its VERY nice! Sounds nice anyway.

Blue, I was thinking the same thing!
Only thing (best as I can gather) him paying to have a V hull outfitted the same way would run only a little less. He had a 2009, built to his specs and most likely can afford it (based on the almost 600 hours he has already put on it since April).
Me, I'd opt to modify a V20, like you said!

Yeah, I sure hope he can afford it! I just can't see that kinda dough for a 21' boat personally. On the other side of it maybe he didn't want anything bigger for various reasons (hull draft, versatility, easier trailering, fuel consumption etc.).

I was talking to a friend & co-worker the other day about boats. He was saying what a good deal he got on his ski boat. So I was telling him about my boat and how I felt like I got a good deal on it. He about shat when I told him I bought a brand new 150 outboard for $7500 (no sales tax). He thought it was outrageous. Obviously he hasn't been outboard shopping lately! $7500 is a steal on a new 150! Or at least it was when I was shopping. I haven't looked lately but doubt the price has fallen.

yea and the yammie dealer in virginia still has brand new 150 carbed 25" shaft motors in the crate for 7000. I am sorely tempted to take a road trip. but mine is running well so i am hesitant even though it is an 1992.
these are the last of them, last year being made by yammie, what a shame, the best engine ever put on a boat IMHO
