Not quite an old timer yet, but I have thought about getting one of the jitterbug phones I see advertised (mostly in National Geographic). Just a basic flip phone type cell phone with really big numbers and heavy duty speaker in the earpiece.

I hear you about the big numbers. I hate it that I have a really hard time trying to see what time it is on my phone. Even with my readers I can barely see it on a bright day.

I have fat fingers and I struggle to text and do simple tasks like set the alarm on my phone. And no I'm not an old timer yet either.

LOL I grew up with those dial phones.. I remember when they came out with the "princess" phone that had push buttons.... it was a great day in USA land.. Freedom from the dial.... !!

Excuse me..it's time for my nap now......:hide: They don't let us stay up too late in the home...

its hard to imagine that i lived for 38 years before my first cell phone. the one i have now, i rarely even turn on. how did society ever function without cell phones? how did people drive without a phone glued to their ear? i would like to ram every a$$hole i see driving while on their phone. my kids ride their bikes on the same roads these jerkoffs drive/talk on.

LOL me too CTT I think I was 34 or 35 before I had my first. Looking back it was the worst day of my life. Nowadays I'm on call 24/7/365 for work and lug my laptop everywhere I go in case I have to fix some crap for work. The exception is when I go offshore and out of signal range. That is the best feeling....knowing nobody can get in touch with me while out there. Makes me feel worry free. Agreed on the driving thing. Texting while driving is 10x worse IMO, but both are dangerous.
