New floor paint

So I am literally at the end of a two year v20 rehab!! The floor was the last (almost) thing to do... and it turned out awesome! I was hesitant to do it on my own, what material to use, what color... the list goes on and on. I actually tried dome garage floor paint... no good at all. I did the gas hatch and fishbox lid, dint like that it literally peeled off, with no real use. So I asked around town and I ended up using Interlux Interdeck premix non-skid and Interlux Brightside for the trim. Very happy with how it turned out...

Very nice job. What do you all think about caulking the seam around the gas tank hatch/cover?

I inherited this v20 from my wife's grandfather... it was sitting for 6 years before I towed it to Florida. He mentioned that he had the gas hatch screwed in and most definitely caulked - said you have to caulk it shut.

So I am curious myself... it seems like it makes sense to keep the water away form the gas tank/foam at all cost... no?

Yes,very much need to seal around fuel tank hatch. i like silicone, cheap and removes easily. when i first got my boat, i sealed it with 5200. big mistake. whatever you put down, you will have to remove at some point, make it easy on yourself.

yes. Tank compartment DOES NOT DRAIN to the bilge. MUST be sealed. Use outdoor silicone like "roof & gutter". Don't use 5200 or 4200 pain in *** to remove.

Inspect tank every year.

I always use 4200 ,never had a problem removing it with a 5 in one painters tool then a good wet scotch brite pad Yes a little elbow grease is needed !
