OMC seadrive electrical

ARERHODES

I’m looking to replace this junction box on my 87 seadrive. Before I write the motor off, I want to do some tests. IMO not safe to power the starter with burned up wire connections. The tilt trim worked fine and motor cranked before I found this. Anyone have one laying around or have any ideas on building a new one, original parts not available for the box...

Pretty sure that box is the trim & tilt relay box. You can use a harness off of a johnson/evinrude on it with just a little bit of modifying.

Fixed my problem, found an old OMC mechanic that was local, he came by and diagnosed as a bad wiring harness, wires corroded. He had an extra in good shape he gave me for 20$. Had to run in through the transom bung, which was a PITA, but now she starts and idles great. No time to put her back together and a sea trial.
