Making one. should have it done this weekend, hoping to try it out. If you dont know what it is google it. I have a spring and want to pump water up a hill to a tank and then use gravity pressure to run it to a cabin build site.

Pretty cool. Never heard of one before. How much elevation change do you thing you will have. How big of a tank will u have.

1st try didnt work. I don't think I have enough water from the spring. Going to try to pipe another spring in and Y them together.
Gotta go up hill about 18 ft. Probably just use an ibc tote. I think they r 275 gallon. Then it will be on top of hill and I can use gravity to cabin site. Guess 60 ft drop.

60 ft elevation should give u 25-30 psi at the cabin. Not bad

Could u put a collection pool upstream of the pump.

Possibly. Have a swampy area just above where I capped off the spring. Trying to keep it as clean as possible. Dont want a crayfish stuck in the pump.

I capped off the spring by using a plastic food grade 30 gallon barrel. Cut top and bottom off. Cut down the side. Used it for a dam where the spring was coming out. Piked rocks on outside to hold it up. Put stones in it totally the void and kinda filter. Put 2 bulkhead fittings in it connected to a pvc pipe coming out of top. Pvc in stone has holes drilled in it. Plastic over top with dirt covered to hold it down. So shouldn't be any rainwater coming in. Bottom bulkhead fitting is outlet, top is overflow. Pvc out top is vent or if u want to put chlorine or something like that in.

Gonna try it again this weekend. Added about 9 inches to the pressure tank. If the spring isn't enough water. I will go down farther in the stream and try it to make sure it works. Then start digging out where the other spring is.

Dodnt get a chance to try it out. Busy cleaning leaves out of ditch along driveway. Cutting brush. And had to make time to squirrel hunt with my son.
