Red Snapper season 2017

due to the generosity of the federal government, recreational anglers were given 3 whole days this year.
went with some of my drinking{coffee} buddies, did manage to get these home.

Been diving and fishing with these guys for about 30 years. The fish were not giants , but 2- 20", 2-23"/24", 1-27" and 1-29", plus the grouper. Left the dock at 6:30am, had fish by 8 and eating a cheeseburger at Bayou Joes by 11.

You monster, you went and not only caught some of those endangered red snapper, but kept some too. I'm sure roy crabtree has you down as putting the take over the tac again. I do hope my EXTREME sarcasm was conveyed in full force. People are beginning to see them coming up on the flats from some of the reports I've read because they've gotten so over populated, yet you get a 3 day federal season this year that you can bet they will say exceeded the quota. Or like a few years back where they reopened, then after re-evaluation they said all fish taken in the reopening were over the quota and gutted the next years season because of it.

Would love to get out and catch some one day, they're one of the few gulf species I've never tried.
