Replacement gas cap

Well I left gas cap on the gunwhale of the boat when filling up this morning and noticed is was gone out on the water. Gas station was only 3 blocks from the ramp so I retraced my steps afterwards but no deal.

Anybody ever have to replace just the cap? I know I can get the whole fitting with cap and all but if anyone knows the thread size and particular info to just get a new screw on cap will save me some research and time.

RW, if it's just your average, everyday screw on gas cap I'm going to scrap my Cruisers boat anyways. You can have the cap that's on it. Sorry I just saw this post, or I'd have run it over. We can meet at the Dunkin Donuts on westbound 46 by the kMart in Parsippany some night this week if you'd like. Not sure of the condition of it.. Haven't looked at it in a while, but it's yours if you want it.

It's definitely worth shot...thanks for the offer.... Meeting you there is no problem as I can easily pass that spot on the way home from work. I dont think Boonton is too far out of your way assuming you are in Parsippany when heading home...would be glad to have you over to the house and pour you a beer for your troubles if your up to it. Either way is fine for me. Let me know what your schedule is. Thanks again

I live in Wayne and work in Carlstadt...but used to work in Morris Township on Madison Ave @ JCP&L ...so am familiar with the area. I'll look at it tonight and make sure it's servicable.. Will let you know tonight when I get home.... Maybe can exchange it tomorrow night... I get out of work at 5, should be able to be there by 6...given traffic that time of night.

I had to replace the whole thing cause I could not find a new cap with the correct threads.....finding one off another old boat is your best bet.

I' make you the same offer on a cap assembly I made to BR...
