Seats???

I am fully against a standard pedestal/seat combo because I think its a waste of space. Well, maybe not a waste, but not OPTIMIZED use of the area. I am still hellbent on building the alumnum single leaning posts with underseat storage. I will make a "receptacle" in the rear of each one for a 150 quart to slide in.

However, I noticed these in a 28 coastal on Ebay:

What do yall think of making something like this but of course on a smaller scale. Maybe a starboard tackle box in one and something else or even another box in the other one? What kinda material? Maybe wood construction covered in vinyl? that would get torn though and be suseptable to water/mildew...thats no good. :P

Of course I just thought of why not....where would the ice chests go? ::)

yeah, if yall cant tell I am getting in gear to work on the boat. ;D Deer season is closing after this weekend and its hot as piss around here. Time to work on the baby some. I am enclosing the transom currently...I will take progress pics. 8)

I like the idea, only one side I would do as a tackle station with drawers and a bait table on top and the other side would be a livewell. Vinyl over wood wouldn't last too long I don't think. Glass over wood would be the way to go but a lot harder to do.

Maybe you can get some ideas here:

Stinky this is a very sore subject around here, super model seating prototypes were supposed to be done by somebody for me to buy this winter. Somebody ::) somebody ::) can't remember who was going to do it for a winter project. I think the latest story is he was preparing to blow a train tressle or something and could not get to it ;D

hey hey i'm waiting on it to warm up enough to do some glassing lol and my super model has had me busy keeping her happy lol

Oh you are here Skools, I had visions of you and your neighbors running like Hogans Heroes out of Stalag 13 blowing up bridges

TinMan, that is NICE!! I think I might try and tackle, pun intended, a couple of those. I built a center console and glassed the whole thing for a buddy and it turned out really nice. I bet I could do that no problem! Ill have a starboard door on it too! ;D

After all, I got nothin but time!!! ::)

What shall I put in the other side though? My livewells will be in the full transom and IMO that is to far forward midship to have a livewell and not get soaked driving/riding.

Taking ideas this jedi is....... 8)

How about a built-in cooler or just dry storage. Or just a seat and stanchion and mount a removable cooler right behind the seat???

Something like that BHS 18 or 24 with an option for cooler or baitwell or tackle storage. I need the rear facing seating for others and I agree with Stinky as nice as my Todd pedestals are they are a waste of space. I like extra storage for tackle but it is secondary because I don't like a cooler or two on the deck I'd rather have them built in with a drain.
The other problem I have with my V20 is I have a large round bait well just like you want, only problem is it is in the floor. Got to lift a big trap door on your knees to get a fishie :-/ Now when I have a super model with me I just have her do it and enjoy the show 8) but alas that is only about half the time :-/

Yeah Willy, I live bait fish alot when bottom fishing. I am super pumped about the livewells being in my full transon, up high enough to make baiting/rigging not such a hassle. 8)

Stinky what have you done to make the live wells in the transom. I have qan original full transom and all I have in it are two storage compartments, one on each side with a plastic storage box that drops into it. You lift them out and can see right down to the bildge area, batteries etc.

I am going to build them in...remember I have a notched outboard transon and I am going to bracket. I will have one on each side of center line...about 12 gallons each.

I know, I know, "but the extra weight" I think I can afford it, besides Ill have 12 gallons of fresh water in my water tank in the deck up front...thatll help too. ;D

Oh Ok, I thought you had something different arranged. I wonder if anyone ever converted those storage boxes in the transoms to anything for live bait. Might be to small.

Hey Stinky! Glad that boat weathered the storms. Panama Marine over here in Panama City has some surplus leaning posts that they bought from Century boats, some with pads and some not, but I they might work on either side. Then you could stow under or Coolers. Your crew could just hang on. I had that Idea for my boat and kinda thought it would be better than taking rough seas with a post than a face full of windshield. Heres their number 850-233-1719.
