Simple rear seat solution

Here's a simple solution to a rear bench seat. Probably not terribly comfortable as I think the splash well only sticks out 12 or 13" or so. Definitely functional .

I am in the process of building the exact same thing, only out of wood. I also have some cushion material that I was going to try and make a seat out of. Once I get it all set up I will snap some pics.

I am going to get a couple of them fold up chairs like the world have that go in a bag, I found a FAC site that has them for up to 500# of weight.

What is FAC you ask?? Fat *** Certified!! :you:

I don't have a lot of call for extra seating so I want something that takes up as little space in the cuddy as possible.

I am also not happy with my helm seat either, I have never found the perfect seat?? I have had many different kinds. I thought this was going to be the perfect seat, but it is to narrow for my fat *** to get in between when standing.

have you guys seen the link for the marine grade bean bag chairs on THT.....I really like the look of those and am thinking about getting two of the round ones. I figure people can sit on them in the back while we are one way.....and during the summer the ladies can lay out on them on the front of the boat.....when you are fishing you can just strap them up to the top of your ttop or out of the way somewhere

This is what I have been envisioning for mine. I was actually thinking of going all the way accross to the sides with the seat and make it a little wider.

I carry 3 beanbag chairs on the boat for for my kids to sleep in the cabin, or on deck....works out great.

For my type of fishing it does not takeup a lot of room. One man can pick it up to remove it. Billy Mac

The previous owners bought it and when I got the boat I thought of getting rid of it. I'm glad I did not. The V20 does not have a great deal of storage room and this me some extra storage room.

wow great looking seat!!!....I have been bouncing back and forth between a full bench seat or just one 42" wide that will let me get to the back corners of the boat. It looks like you have the bench mounted 6" or so forward of the very back ...is that to allow the motor to go all the way up?

I've been wanting to check how far the motor sticks into the splash well in the full up position...

It's about 6 inches
When the engine is all the way up it just clears. The pins are nice because I can pull it out when I want to have full access for fishing.

I thought of cuting out a seat in the shape of the splash which wou be on those hinges you can slide off when needed. I thought of using those rubber locking devices of the back which I could pop open when I need to rais the motor up. By that pic it looks like he might be limited to how high he could rais the motor.
