Thanksgiving Beach Trip

My wife and her sisters always go shopping the weekend after Thanksgiving so the kids and I usually go to Holden Beach with my folks, as we did this past weekend.

We drove down Thursday night after stuffing our bellies at my sister in laws house near Greenville SC. Friday morning I helped my Dad fix the water shut off valve and my uncle get his riding lawn mower started.

Friday afternoon we all went for a nice stroll on the beach, it was sunny and about 68 degrees with no wind.

So I checked the forcast for Saturday, partly cloudy in the morning, chance of showers by late afternoon, light and slight seas. So my son, Dad, and I plan to take the V out to snag a few Black Bass Saturday morning.

Woke up at 0630 Saturday morning and it was raining so hard you couldn't see......and it never stopped all day.

But we had a nice visit and ate some delisious steamed oysters, sauteed skrimps, and homeade clam chowdah.

Here's a few pics:

Wow, RB...we went down to SS on Wed...had Tgivin' w/ my sister and left Fri afternoon...we BOUT ran into each other...

Wed at sundown we took all the dogs (6 then, 2 more showed up later) for a good workout on the beach...there was a FOX runnin' around on the beach lookin' for what mighta washed up to eat...I found a dead shark down-wind of her and dragged it back to where she was lookin' around...never saw a fox on the beach before...she musta been gettin' pretty desparate...at first I thought rabies, but an old geezer w/a metal detecter said she was down there pretty frequently lately and that he'd seen the larger male too...

Glad to see 'em keepin' the inlets dredged...
