Threw the 180 Fisherman in today

Put her in today.. I'm so happy to have it in for the year. I did however come to the conclusion I really need to put ball scuppers on the stern, It was always wet in the stern, but its worse with the 4 stroker. I ran it with myself and a buddy of mine, roughly 500-550lbs and a full tank of gas (43gal) and got it running 45 at 5900RPM running at close to dead tide or slightly against. I love this boat so much. I have the blessing a free slip beside our big boat (3700scr Maxum in the back ground) until it is rented... Its just great to finally have it out of the garage and turn key ready at a moments notice.

That's a good looking boat. Looks like you're going to have a ball on that thing this season.
I get some water washing in with my transom scuppers on my Scout too. And I have the ball type. They stop some of it, but aren't all that effective. The best thing I've found to do is stick a couple expansion plugs (you know, the brass and rubber type) in the drain holes from the inside. Deck stays nice and dry. In the event I get any water on the deck, they pull out nice and quick.
Works for me.

Thanks guys. I use the expansion plug trick now. I use to have ball scuppers before the resto and like you said, they work, just not 100%, but the flapper scuppers are cracked as it is... I figured they should have lasted longer then 4 years, but anyways, something had to go there so might as well do something to help with the issue.

During the resto, the guy who did all the hull fittings couldn't located the "ball" scuppers for the side either, which were a sharp 90 degree from the side deck to the side outlet, so there is nothing there but an elbow and a drain screen in the deck to the hull drain. I'm going to see if i can locate the correct scupper there as well and do a replacement of that, which is no simple task, but will keep the boat somewhat drier.

looks sweet! makes me want to get mine ready to go in.

Do you plug the side rear drains as well? looks like they are def below the water line. those are the ones that scare me on my 18.
