Trump Quote on "Obamacare"

Quote," We are going to be gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase, and fined if we do not, which purportedly covers at least 20 million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he does not understand it, passed by a Congress that did not read it but exempted themselves from it, signed by a President who smokes, with funding administered by a Treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, for which bill we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese, and financed by a country that is dead broke. What the hell could possibly go wrong.?" unquote Donald Trump

I am not real smart, but that sums it up for me. Healthcare jumped 20% year over year for me and family with less coverage. Lucky to have it and a job. My fear is the insurance companies are just hitting their stride. On what date does the plan go into full effect?

I keep hearing 2014 being thrown around..... There is one detail that is always left out of this discussion. One of the biggest items that was wanting to be addressed was denial of coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. I personally dont know anybody this has happened to but I could imagine if you were in that boat it would suck bad. So one of the parts of Obamacare is to force insurance companies to take people with pre existing conditions. Can anyone really say thats a bad thing? Now the insurance companies must take you with pre existing condition....so I dont carry health insurance, I get cancer, start paying insurance to a company and they are required by law to start treating me the next day. Who in their right mind is going carry insurance when they are healthy???? just wait until you get sick and then pick it up. It should be obvious that would never work.

So when everyone starts screaming about it being mandatory to carry insurance just remember when or if its repealled you are also getting rid of helping anyone with a pre existing condition.

I really cant understand why when someone is hit or injured by an uninsured motorist they are loser irresponsible dirt bags but we have no problem letting people walk around without health insurance. (although I dont consider those people irresponsible because it is financially not possible for most because of the rediculous prices) I know the argument is going be that states consider driving a privilige so you dont HAVE to buy car insurance if you dont want to drive but come on this country is based on the automobile so thats BS in my opinion.

I am not at all convinced that financially this program will work but I would like to see it implemented and then hopefully work out the bugs and try to at least get some improvements. The uncomprising call for a complete repeal is stupid in my opinion and being made by people who have health insurance and refuse to take the time to do some reasearch and find out what the ins and outs are of it....

There are talking points either way. Pre-existing illness and affordability are the two talking points I am most interested in. Forcing the ones that have carried health insurance since birth to pay more so the ones that have never had insurance are covered is crazy. Part of the reason health care is so expensive now is the fact that hospitals are forced to treat people with no insurance. Those costs get passed on to the payers. Let's face it, if you need a major operation without healthcare you may be forced to go without or be in debt the rest of your days. Prudent to have coverage for the what if's even if the premium is 20% of your pay???

I have a bit of a differrent view on healthcare as I have had a good deal of experience with it and pre existing conditions as well as ludacrous costs. I for one HATE obamacare, and wish it would be struck down entirely. We do need healthcare reform, but obamacare only helps to garner him votes and help those who help got him elected. And teh single biggest problem with healthcare has nothing to do with the healthcare industry. Lawyers are the single biggest reason as to why healthcare is so expensive. there are to many people out there who fall for these scam lawyers making baseless lawsuits and driving up the cost of malpractice insurance for the doctors and providers. Why is it a pill for a human costs say $10, but the same exact pill from a vetrinarian for an animal costs $.10? It all boils down to all of the differrent insirance companies involved in selling it to people and all the differrent approval process's it must go through. This is where obamacare is a SERIOUS problem as it does nothing but go through even more insurance companies.

And if you don't have insurance, a hospital will not turn you away if you truly need help so the whole arguement of people dieing without insurance is also bogus. And why should people with a cold be going to the ER? We need serious reform, but obamacare is not it. As for pre existing conditions, this can normally only be held agaianst you for 5 years. Once you've had a problem for 5 years without problems they can no longer hold it against you under most policies. I have alot of problems from past accidents, but they cannot be used against me as they were over 5 years ago now.

And why should a person have to pay over $300 a month for crappy coverage? Insurance companies have been allowed to run rampant unchecked for to long now, and they have gotten there lobbyists in DC to mold things to there favor so they can squeeze out competition and narrow the market. We need to remove some of the restrictions on insurance companies and open it up to an actual free market which will drive prices down with competition. And also we need to restrain the lawyers to reduce teh number of frivolous lawsuits which will in turn drive down the providers costs. The whole system is broken is teh problem, and the dingbats in DC are playing on as the ship sinks.

X2!!!!!!!!! I could not have said it better.

X3 Thank you, nothing, I repeat nothing gives the federal government the authority to force anyone to purchase anything. Nothing.
As a matter of fact the Constitution specifically prohibits the federal government from assuming such power.
I understand the medical problems many face and would love to see some major changes to our system, Ferm lays out some and there are others from some very smart people that we should be implementing.
But Obamacare is not about helping anyone, no one. Obamacare is a power grab by the federal government, once it is implemented it will set a precedent for further anti-constitutional power grabs.
It must be defeated. For our generation to allow this expansion against our Constitution on our watch to happen will be remembered for generations as the period when Americans let the future generations down and changed our society from a individual liberty, Constitution based society to another failed socialist experiment.
Our children will pay for our failure.
Not on my watch.

America DESPERATELY needs healthcare reform, even moreso now that obamacare has been brought about. Like stated above, it has virtually nothing to do with improving healthcare but to take power and line the pockets of a few with good lobbysists and dirt on those who make the laws. I believe everybody should have healthcare, not because it is mandated and wrote into law but because it is a safety net that people can AFFORD.

I keep hoping I'll wake up one day and Ashton Kutcher will be on TV and say that we were all just on the biggest episode of PUNKED and o was just a sick joke, but I know this will not happen. Most people can't understand why I despise him so much since I'm about as broke as you can get right now with no work, disabled, and am 1/3 indian. They all say I should be down and signed up for my gubment check as it is owed to me because of who my ancesters were, but I DON'T feel that way at all. I may be broke, but it is what it is and I'll work through it one way or another. I may be disabled, but I normally find a way to get the job done. And just because I'm part indian, I don't feel I am owed anything for that either. I was on disability for awhile when I was in wheelchair, but I went off of it once I got to where I could walk and get around on my own again. It's been a tough road, but to many people don't want to travel the rough roads to get to the end anymore I think.

As an example of the above statement, look at AARP. They are "supposed" to be all about helping retired people, but the dirty little secret is they pushed nobamacare as much as they could because they stand to make BILLIONS from it in the form of new customers when it becomes mandated that eveyone has a health care provider. No matter that it will cost their members that money. They got theirs. :cen:
