The two day's I know we all will never forget, December 7, 1941, the murderous attack on Pearl Harbor & September 11, 2001, the cowardly, murderous attack on the World Trade Center, the Two Towers.

The days I will always remember
911 I seen it, I was on the njtp going north and watched the towers up in flames. A hortible day
The second day I will always remember was when the space shuttle exploded again I was just getting on the njtp.
I better stay off the njtp.

I guess I'm too old.... There are days I will always remember or honor

Pearl Harbor
Invasion of Normandy
Kennedy Assassination
Both Shuttle disasters
9/11 attacks on the twin towers, Pentagon and the heroic passengers that saved the Capital building by retaking control of the plane over Pennsylvania

There are others..

As far as the challenger goes, I was trolling off the coast of Hollywood Florida and I hooked into a BIG yellowfin tuna. 9/11, I was driving a truck in Yonkers and had Howard Stern on the radio. Gary came in and told Howard about the plane hitting the building. All I could think was a little single prop plane like a piper cub or such. My next stop was the city garage and everybody was up on the roof watching it unfold. We saw the second plane and while we didn’t actually see it make contact, we knew. A minute or two later, we watched a couple o fighter jets roar overhead and all you heard was the whole fire department loading up and pulling out. We watched it on TV for a while and my shop called and told me to return to base. Just as they were closing all the bridges and tunnels, I was the absolute last vehicle to go over the throggs neck bridge that morning. You could clearly see ground zero from the bridge and the surrounding sky was just black with smoke and soot. Emergency vehicles were racing toward the scene. I got back to the shop and everybody was watching the TV there. I was supposed to begin training for the LIRR that evening. Obviously that was canceled. The railroad spent the day shuttling people out of the city.
What a mess.
I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!
