What’s going on with prices

Did anyone check the prices of fish these days? Highway robbery. And they blame it on the tariffs
Fluke, $12.99 a pound not filleted the whole fish. So I would estimate the weight at 3 pounds. That $39.00 for one fluke. That’s insane
Cleaned squid was $4.99 a pound that was about three years ago. Today, $9.99 a pond with the head on. Before it was just 5he tube. Frig the regulations ,when I catch a fluke it’s coming home with me. I gotta eat , right?
 
Step, here in Staten Island we don't have that many privately owned fish stores left - I think there is only one left and it's now owned, by Asians The prices are off the charts - For me the best place for me is, especially around the holiday's is - La Bella Market Place - They have fresh fish and at reasonable prices, the fresh Calamari, cleaned, for $7.99 a pound - Since I don't catch my fish any longer, I don't buy that much fish - I will buy a nice piece of fresh Swordfish when it's on sale, for $14.99 - I only get one piece so it cost around $9 - One fish I will never buy is FARM RAISED.
 
$7.99 a pound for cleaned squid is a lot of money but much better than $9.99 a pound. They use to sell it without the head and tentacles just the tube. Now they are thrown in a crate and you have to get them yourself. $9.99 a pound I’m giving up on squid till the price comes down. I will find something else to use for bait.
And the best thing is. I asked the guy behind the counter. Why is it so high? What do you think he said?
Tariffs. Yeah right. Doubled the price cause of tariffs. Sure. I should have said. I think it’s because you guys are thieves.
