Who owns a V20 still?

1992 with a 115 Yamaha. Motor is takin’ a sh!t this year. I’m gonna try and dump it this year. Coming out next weekend. Needs a bit. I’m gonna take whatever.

Still have mine. ‘86 (maybe ‘85 - can’t remember), 170 I/O. Hasn’t been out for a few years - finally cleaning out shop to get it in and work on it. Long story short, it was overheating because I let the impeller get old and crumble. Got that fixed and almost rammed a shiny new boat at the dock because the choke stuck. Even Spare hasn’t been able to source a replacement part, other stuff took over and the boat’s been sitting. I’m thinking I may have to find a really long choke cable and rig it for manual choke.

I thought it was about ocean ready: new alternator, water pump fixed, new hot ignition, new 15 horse kicker for backup power (which I used several times during the overheating episodes), newer GPS/sonar, etc. I have a couple of fishing buddies with boats, but I really miss the great ride of the V.

I have my Grandfather’s ‘86 V20. Repowered it with a 2020 Yamaha 200 and still run it nearly every day in the Patuxent River.

Now there’s a happy story - grampa’s boat, nice new, plenty powerful motor and using it a lot. I don’t think it gets much better than that.

Still have my 1977 V20,170 I/O, since 06. Replaced the lower unit with a SEI replacement and new batteries. Gave it a good cleaning in the spring. Still looks great. Been busy this summer, rebuilt the kitchen in our 106 year old house. Ripped it out to the ground and built it back. Finishing it up now. Hope to get back on the river soon.

Still here, still have my '87 cuddy. 200 v8 i/o and its in the process of a full restoration. It's actually being re gel koted as we speak. I went with white bottom, Sea Hunt's Slate Blue for the mid section and Wellcraft's Off-White for the top side. getting it back soon, then putting it all back together.

Sold my primo restored 74 V-20 165 hp around 2005...Yes, another mistake. Look at it.....just look at it.
